ABS Grade A steel is a hot rolled ordinary tensile strength steel. ABS steel has 4 grades of ordinary strength steel for shipbuilding, and grade A is the lowest one. ABS Grade A steel has a yield strength of 34,100 psi (235 MPa) and an ultimate tensile strength of 58,000 - 75,500 psi (400-520 MPa). All ABS/A shipbuilding steels we offer are American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) certified.
Overview
Marine steel refers to the steel used to manufacture the hull structure of sea-going ships and inland ships, usually high-quality carbon steel and high-quality low-alloy steel.
